Made by The Spalding Co., now a division of Russell Brands, LLC, Spaldeens were used to play many of the inner city/street games that were very popular in NYC from the 50s - 70s. These included stickball, strikeout/pitching in, punchball, handball, Chinese handball (aka Slug and Ace-King-Queen), box baseball, stoop ball, off-the-curb, and hit-the-penny (or stick).
