Bronx born & bred, MIT-educated, technologist/innovator/entrepreneur, owner of Elements Of Style, LLC and creator of the NYC Wear and Gear merchandise line and Bona Fide New Yorker brand.
Having lived my entire life in areas where the fervor and fanaticism of New York and Boston sports fana are legendary, I was not only surprised but impressed by the exceptional levels of support, pride and positivity with which Golden State Valkeries fans rewarded their expansion team during an unbelievably successful initial season which resulted in them 1) becoming the first WNBA team to make the playoffs in their amazing inaugural effort 2) posting the most wins by an expansion team in WNBA history 3) having 23 sold-out games 4) setting the all-time WNBA records for average attendance and total fans while boasting the Most Improved Player, Coach of the Year, a WNBA All-Star and an AP All-Rookie Team member.
In recognition of the GSV's accomplishments and the devotion of their fans, I was compelled to create and launch a GSV Collection of Golden State Valkyries inspired apparel, accessories and gift items to celebrate this unprecedented success and give exposure to the pieces pictured in the accompanying video.
The video ends with me sharing projected enhancements to the collection and info about the percentage of launch associated revenue I will be donating to a worthy collegiate cause.
Since some like for their items to display more colorful or creatve designs than the graphics currently available and shown here,
two key collection objectives are to in the future 1) use AI-based design tools to produce more eye-catching graphics for this collection and eventually others and 2) commission professional graphic designers to create for me unique artwork. The results of which I'll be able to have my printer partners apply to various pieces or do myself using heat transfers in combination with my heat presses.
Consistent with my altruistic bent, the third objective will be funding a ten percent of the amount raised during the Collection's launch donation to the MIT Women's Varsity Basketball program.
According to the American Foundation For Suicide Prevention, suicide is the second leading cause of death among U. S. college students.
Perennially ranked among the very best universities in the world, MIT is widely believed to be the one wth the highest suicide rate.
Steadfast in my belief intramural and intercollegiate participation and competition can very positively affect human emotions and moods, by contributing to MIT's Athletic Dapartment in general and the Women's Varsity Basketball team/program in particular, I actively support their efforts to evoke the kind of good vibes conducive to fostering reduced stress levels, peace of mind and generally good mental health... staples of suicide prevention.
